Leading women''s fitness franchise Contours today announced that in less than two years of operation it has secured its 105th Australian franchise and is heading across the Tasman into New Zealand, making it one of Australia's fastest growing and most successful franchises.
Under the trading name 'Balance', Contours plans to launch its first franchise in New Zealand in the next few months, a move it believes will cement its place as the regions' leading women's fitness provider.
According to Contours Director Dave Hundt, "Our success has truly been phenomenal and has gone far beyond our expectations. We underestimated the power of the baby boomers who make up a significant part of our membership".
"We are the first Australian company to effectively market a low cost express fitness concept to women between the ages of 35 and 75 and they are signing up in droves for what is an easy, non-intimidating fitness approach," he said.
Promoted as 'gym without the jims' and 'fitness without the fanatics' the 29 minute workout concept has caught on fast with over 10,000 members across Australia.
From a business franchise perspective, Contours believes it is its simple, yet successful business model that has proven so popular.
From a business franchise perspective, Contours believes it is its simple, yet successful business model that has proven so popular.
"Our success is based on a proven franchise model. We offer our franchisees an entire operating system as well as an Australian based team to support them in set-up, training, day-to-day operations and marketing," said Mr Hundt.
Contours has also teamed up with the experienced health magazine publisher, Kris Abbey to launch its own health-focused glossy, 'Balance' to be sold via Contours studios.
Balance will cover all elements of health from conventional medicine and the latest in medical and cosmetic procedures to alternative therapies and natural remedies with the content aimed at a reader who wants to know all the facts.
According to Publishing Editor, Kris Abbey, "We provide the reader with all the information so they can choose what is best for them in their quest for a more balanced lifestyle".
"The magazine fits perfectly with the Contours members - a woman who is older and more family-oriented, not a gym junkie, who seeks quality as well as convenience. We also aim to have the magazine available in newsagents by the end of the year," said Ms Abbey.
